Supporting Executive Functioning in a Play-Based Environment

چکیده
This project examines how executive function is exercised in a New Zealand primary school. aimed to bring together two fields of research: current conceptions functioning and the features high-quality play-based environments, uncover skills children play supports teachers employ their development.
To implement project, consideration was given creating an environment that demonstrated quality practices support development functioning. The action research design undertaken three iterations included 16 Year 1 2 student participants. first focused on capturing behaviours using researcher observations audio recordings, third used third-party capture teacher behaviour. An observational tool developed by Moreno et al., (2017) adopted analyse for markers function.

Play Your Way Into Math: Supporting Prevocational Students in a Computer Game-based Learning Environment
Project Goal The overall research focus in this project concerns the affordances of computer game-based learning (CGBL) for prevocational students, in the domain of mathematics. The effects of different forms of elicited reflection on both students’ acquired knowledge and motivation during game-play are examined. The goal is to identify concrete conditions under which CGBL establishes positive ...

The executive function (EF) is a set of abilities, which allows us to invoke voluntary control of our behavioral responses. These functions enable human beings to develop and carry out plans, make up analogies, obey social rules, solve problems, adapt to unexpected circumstances, do many tasks simultaneously, and locate episodes in time and place. EF includes divided attention and sustained att...
متن کاملFrontal Lobe/Executive Functioning
Abstract The frontal lobes represent a large area, consuming approximately one-third of the cortical surface of the brain. This area is involved directly and indirectly across a wide spectrum of human thought, behavior and emotions. The irony of the frontal lobes may best be described as the area of the brain we know the most about but understand the least. For example, frontal lobe functioning...
متن کاملMultisensory executive functioning.
To better understand the prefrontal circuitry that putatively supports executive functions, such as those involved in switching tasks, we asked whether a current task set is open equally to receiving information from any sensory modality or if it is to some degree modality-specific. Subjects were presented with a sequence of digits to be classified as either odd/even or greater/less than five. ...
متن کاملExecutive Functioning and Daily Functioning in Older Adults
This study investigated the relationship between measures of executive functioning and both observed and self-reported functional ability. It was hypothesized that performance on a direct assessment of functional ability would have a stronger correlation with performance on measures of executive functioning than a self-report measure of functional ability. Results supported the hypothesis, indi...
